Xbox One S Is The Perfect Family Gift For Christmas

Xbox One S

The elves at Microsoft dropped a Xbox One S Minecraft bundle at our house so we could get our game on. All opinions are based on personal experience.

On Christmas morning in our house, the kids tear into their packages like Tasmanian devils. Wrapping paper and bows fly, and presents get stacked in the corner, in order of their perceived coolness. When the bows settle, and the scraps of paper are cleared, you can see the winners and the losers. But several days later, even the cool toys lose their appeal and start collecting dust. That’s not the case with the Xbox One S console.

Seriously, the XBox One S is the perfect family gift! Let me break it down for you.

Xbox One S Is The Perfect Family Gift For Christmas

You’re not a gamer? No problem. Family movie night just got an upgrade! The Xbox One S is the ONLY device that can stream 4K content on Netflix and Amazon Video, and you can watch Ultra HD Blu-ray™ movies on your new TV with the Xbox One. With four times the resolution of standard HD, 4K Ultra HD delivers the clearest, most realistic video possible.

You’re ready to explore the world of video games. We’ve owned a Wii, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, but the new Xbox One S is the best looking console to date. The new color robot white gives it a modern look, and with an internal power supply its 40 percent smaller, which means it can be placed in more locations – horizontally or vertically (with the Xbox One Vertical Stand). Its easy to set up, and offers games for everyone in the family. This is the first time I’ve been in charge of setting up the video game system and I was surprised by how easy it was to connect and set up.)

Families That Game Together Build Trust

Family Playing XBox One S

Spending time with your family has never been more fun than playing together on the Xbox. According to Jane McGonigal, “Gaming strengthens your social bonds and builds trust. Studies show that cooperative gameplay lifts our mood longer, and strengthens our friendships more, than competing against each other. Cooperative gameplay also makes us more likely to help someone in real life, and better collaborators at work–boosting our real-world likeability and chances for success.”

I love using technology to bond with my children, and they love to school me on how to be a better gamer. With our Xbox One S we can play games like Madden NFL 17, Minecraft and Forza 6 together. And when they go to bed, I often find myself honing my track skills as I race a Ford GT around the track. With access to more than 100 console exclusives, there are games for every interest and every skill level.

Stay Safe With Xbox One S Parental Controls

If your kids love video games, but you’re nervous about giving them Internet access, Microsoft has the answer. With Xbox One S parental controls, you’re in charge of how much screen time they’re allowed, what websites they’re allowed to access, and you can control who your child plays games with!

Bundle and Save

Now, if your kids are fluent in Minecraft like mine are, you’ll love the Xbox One S Minecraft bundle. Microsoft has several Xbox One S bundles available for the holidays and on sale for $249 through Christmas Eve. While I don’t understand Minecraft myself, I encourage the kids to play it often. Minecraft builds their creative thinking, requires them to use strategy and challenges their imagination.
