My Mother battled breast cancer on and off for most of her adult life. Her story was one of strength, faith, and perseverance through all of the ups and downs of her illness. As her daughter and a firsthand witness to her fight, I was constantly amazed by her bravery and unwillingness to surrender. She inspired so many, by just being herself in the face of adversity. I wish she’d shared her story on a bigger platform so others could see what an amazing woman she was, and how surviving breast cancer shaped her life.
This month Susan G. Komen and WWE are giving breast cancer survivors the opportunity to share their story and inspire others. By sharing their battles, friends, family and others can gain strength in their own fight against breast cancer. With the team efforts from WWE and Susan G. Komen, they’re working together to find a cure.
Susan G. Komen has joined forces with WWE to host a contest to honor three breast cancer survivors who are doing MORE in the fight against breast cancer through the Share Your Story Survivor Essay Contest. These three survivors will win an ultimate WWE fan experience at SummerSlam 2016 and will be featured in WWE and Komen public service announcements that may air on TV, online, in WWE venues and on the WWE Network in October 2016.
Susan G. Komen has truly transformed the world’s support for breast cancer research and awareness. WWE is exceptionally proud to continue our partnership with Komen and be at the forefront of this movement, as we continue to utilize our global platforms to raise awareness and funds for a disease that affects so many people.” Stephanie McMahon, Chief Brand Officer at WWE
