I’ve never watched an episode of “The Walking Dead“. Never. Whoa, stop throwing eggs at the screen! Even though I haven’t watched it, I feel like I can’t escape it. Walking Dead fans are everywhere, kind of like zombies would be in a zombie apocalypse….
Houston peeps, I have both bad news and good news for you. The bad news: Houston is going to experience a zombie apocalypse in April, so be prepared. Good news: its not real, although it may look and feel very realistic when The Walking Dead Escape tour takes over Reliant Stadium on April 26,2014.
If you’re a fan of The Walking Dead, you can buy The Walking Dead Escape tickets and participate as a “walker” or “survivor”. For anyone that prefers watching the madness vs. participating, you can purchase a spectator ticket. Must be at least 14 years old to participate.
“Walkers” or “Survivors” climb, crawl, and slide their way through various zombie-infected evacuation zones. “Walkers” are transformed into the un-dead by professional makeup artists (because looking un-dead when you’re healthy is hard work), and participate in “zombie training” before being released into the
wild…I mean obstacle course. Survivors navigate the course through herd highway where they dodge zombies and abandoned cars; hospital hell, where the doctors aren’t the good guys; and through the prison block, climbing barricades and chain link fences.

Their mission is to make it to the Decontamination Zone without ANY contact by the Walkers since the Government believes infection is spread by touch. Once the Survivor makes it to the Decontamination Zone, Government Scientists will perform a highly confidential scan to determine whether or not they’ve been infected by the virus. Hmmm…kind of sounds like a TSA exam at the airport.
“I’m thrilled to offer fans new and old an even bigger, more interactive experience this time around. It’s great to see fans of the comic book and television series live in the world I created so many years ago,” Robert Kirkman, creator and executive producer of The Walking Dead.
Tickets to The Walking Dead Escape are sold as Walkers, Survivors, or spectators. Super enthusiasts, there’s a VIP option that allows you to experience the course twice first as a Survivor and then a Walker, plus it includes a VIP event t-shirt, VIP-only lounge, and exclusive behind the scenes access!
