Superheroes can’t be slackers when it comes to a workout routine, turns out the actors that play them have to be disciplined too. The gorgeous, 6’3″ Aussie, had to gain 20 pounds of muscle for his role in the first “Thor” movie. Preparing for the sequel, he had to return to a high protein diet, and eliminate carbs. From the way he looks in the newest “Thor The Dark World” poster, it seems he’s ready to take on the dark elves.
Of course we’re going to get to see more of Loki (Tom Hiddleston) and the sibling rivalry in the sequel, as well as a love triangle involving Jane Foster (Natalie Portman). This film looks like it will have a very different, darker feel than its predecessor. I’ve read a few articles where Hemsworth talks about how Director Alan Taylor’s “Game of Thrones” background influences the look and feel of the movie.
With the Universe still unsettled following the epic battle in “The Avengers”, now Thor is up against Malekith the Accursed (Christopher Eccleston). He must defeat the enemy to save Earth and the Nine Realms. In need of back-up, he’ll turn to his insane brother Loki for help, not the most trustworthy allie.
