I received complimentary tickets from Sesame Street Live to facilitate this review.
A few weeks ago my daughter went on her second date with her boyfriend. Their first date went really well with a trip to Build-a-Bear, followed by dinner and a shared dessert at Pappasito’s. I think every first date in Texas MUST include eating mexican food, it’s like an unwritten rule. How would her sweetheart top that on the second date…he took her to see Sesame Street Live in Houston!
Maybe not the most romantic choice, but since she’s only 5 and he’s 3, it was the perfect activity; and…no, they aren’t really “dating”, but they love doing fun things together! Right now, Sesame Street Live has three different shows on tour, the Houston show was “Make a New Friend“. This show is all about sharing experiences with Grover’s friend Chamki visiting Sesame Street from India. Sesame Street characters like Elmo, Big Bird, Abby Cadabby, Telly Monster and Cookie Monster shake a tail-feather and sing throughout this high energy performance!
I’m not sure if it’s because I’m old and don’t remember Sesame Street, or what, but I had to look up the big pink guy to see he’s called “Telly Monster”. I looked him up, because out of all the Sesame Street Live characters, he seemed to really stand out! You might say he had “Moves Like Jagger”.
And, I might have been the only person in Reliant Arena, just hoping the chickens were going to break into “Forget You” from “The Muppets” movie! That didn’t happen, but there were singing cookies, and Count Von Count impersonated Bruno Mars. Okay, so that’s probably just my perception of the count and his back up singers.
Anyway, from tapping their feet to sharing popcorn and snow-cones, the kids enjoyed the show so much they fell asleep on the way home. #Momwin
