As member of a pretty cool team of influencers, I receive devices to test from Verizon. No additional compensation is provided nor is positive feedback promised. All opinions are based on my personal experience.
I use my phone more in a 24 hour period than any other electronic device. My smartphone is used more than my car, my television, my laptop, the oven (obviously), and even my bed. Working in social media, having a phone that’s reliable is a MUST, having a phone I like is a bonus. The wishlist of features is long, but probably not much different from what everyone wants in a smartphone: battery life, camera, storage and speed.
Battery life is my first priority when shopping for a smartphone. With a 3900mAh battery, the Droid Turbo from Motorola can last up to 48 hours on one charge! With its amazing battery life, the Turbo checks the box for a battery that can keep up with my heavy daily usage. You might assume a big battery means a massive phone, closer to a phablet than a phone, but you’d be wrong. The screen on the Droid Turbo is 5.2 inches vs. 5.1 on the Samsung Galaxy S5. Oh, and not only is the battery big, but with the Turbo charger, in 15 minutes you can get 8 hours of charge!
Next on my must-have list is: speed. I require a phone that can keep up with my fingers. Outfitted with a 2.7GHz Qualcomm Snapdragon processor on board, the Turbo lives up to its name. I can send emails, Tweet, text, and take photos as fast as my fingers can type.
I can’t emphasize enough how important a smartphone camera is to me. I need to be able to take quality photos, shoot video, and be able to rely on my photos and videos for social media and the website. The 21 mp camera on the Droid Turbo exceeds my expectations. The camera has 4x digital zoom, can capture 4k video, slow-motion video, burst mode, auto HDR, panorama and auto focus. I’m so impressed with the quality of photos from my Droid Turbo, my DSLR stays home on press trips!
