It’s fall y’all, and my favorite season of the year. Fall, with the promise of cooler weather, pumpkin spice lattes, and the return of football season. NFL kickoff is one of my favorite days of the year, and Super Bowl Sunday is one of the saddest. From now until the end of the season you’ll find me wearing my team’s colors throughout the week and on game day. Regardless of whether you have season tickets or spend Sundays at the neighborhood sports bar, you need the perfect Texans game day outfit!
Let me be clear, I’m not a fashionista by any means. Everyone knows my seven year old daughter has more style than I’ve ever had, whether in the stadium or the boardroom. I’m not fancy or flashy, and high heels definitely weren’t made for me. But, friends have often said I have my own sense of style, which is true for better or for worse. The great thing about living in Texas is that jeans and boots are acceptable attire for every occasion, especially on game day.
In my world, game day outfits must include a Houston Texans t-shirt that I can dress up or down depending on whether I’m watching the game from the stadium suite, or the tailgate of a truck. Comfort rules, and with Houston’s warm weather I like being able to add layers.
I bought a 3/4 sleeve raglan Texans t-shirt, and a performance pullover from NFL shop. Paired with jeans, cowboy boots and a blazer, and I have the perfect casual look for the game.
With the 3/4 t-shirt it isn’t too hot during the early fall, but I can add a vest or jacket for warmth. I’m thinking a cute red puffer vest would add both warmth and a pop of color. On Sundays when I’m playing armchair quarterback from the couch, the performance pullover with athletic pants is my go to Texans game day outfit.
Now, while you can never go wrong with a JJ Watt t-shirt or jersey, or you want to be different, the NFL shop has lots of options from clothing to accessories for any NFL fan. Be sure to check out @NFLFanStyle on social media for inspiration on ways to look your best this football season.
What’s your NFL style? Are you casual or dressy? Look your best throughout the season with gear from the NFL Shop. Now, does anyone have JJ Watt’s phone number….
A special thank you to Brittney Layson and Sherri Crist for using their photography skills to make me look stylish and slightly thinner.
