“Captain America: The Winter Soldier” opens in theaters this Friday, April 4, 2014, but this self-proclaimed Fan Girl won’t see it until next week. Lame, I know. I should have attended last night’s press screening, but sometimes even a hardcore Marvel fan has to put their family first. And now, a better offer has come along, a dinner date with “Captain America The Winter Soldier.”
Okay, okay so I’m not actually having dinner with Steve Rogers (Chris Evans), Bucky Barnes (Sebastian Stan), or the distinguished Alexander Pierce (Robert Redford). My job has some amazing perks, but dinner with the cast of Captain America at a screening of the film, isn’t one of them. (Yet!) Instead, my husband and I plan to go to Alamo Drafthouse Vintage Park for the Captain America The Winter Soldier Dinner Party next Tuesday.
Well, actually I haven’t told my hubby yet, but I thought it would be a great way to celebrate our anniversary. So…shh…
Join us in celebrating America’s superhero with a family friendly dinner party featuring all-American fare. Our chef has prepared a dinner party Captain America would be proud of – featuring picnic and backyard BBQ-themed dishes. Alamo Drafthouse Vintage Park
I love their themed dinner and a movie! Tickets are $25 and include: “Black Widow Chili” (I wonder if its as deadly as Natasha Romanoff/Black Widow looks in the film), “Patriot’s Picnic”, “Captain America Custard”, and all the water, tea or soda you can drink. They also plan to have a list of beers, wines and cocktails that will pair well with the meal. I’m not sure what’s more drool worthy, Chris Evans in a uniform, or the custard, with scratch made vanilla pudding infused with bourbon and brown sugar caramelized banana pudding. Yum!
Early reviews are rolling in, and rumor has it “Captain America The Winter Soldier” is one of the best Marvel films to date. I loved the first film, and its still one of my all time favorites, so I can’t wait to see what Anthony and Joe Russo have created.
How do we tell the good guys from the bad guys, Cap? If they’re shooting at you, they’re bad.
Anyone planning to see the film this weekend when it opens?
