2017 Lincoln Continental Is Elegant, Seductive
I’m a Mom of two, which means the term “quiet luxury” is foreign to me. So, when The Lincoln Motor Company sent a driver to whisk me away in the elegant 2017 Lincoln Continental, I thought, “alright, alright, alright”. After I stopped staring at what might possibly be the most beautiful vehicle on the road, I climbed inside and settled into the luxurious interior.
My next step was to explore all the features, translation: play with all the controls. I reclined my seat, yes the rear seats will recline, turned on the heat, and adjusted the intensity of the massaging seat. Dear Calgon, you can keep your bubbles, Lincoln has what it takes to help me escape my busy life.
Craftmanship + Details= Classic Lincoln
While I’m usually more comfortable behind the wheel, piloting the vehicle and enjoying the feel of the road, I was more than comfortable in the back seat. Surrounded by expert craftsmanship and luxurious materials like the Chilean Maple wood, Alcantara accents and Jet Black trim (available in Lincoln Black Label) I found the Continental’s interior both elegant and seductive.
What does every successful seduction need? The perfect soundtrack. And the 2017 Lincoln Continental equipped with the Revel® audio system is the nest best thing to attending a live concert. Revel was developed specifically to work in concert with the car’s interior design and acoustics. With three listening modes: stereo, audience and on stage, you can transform the sedan’s cabin into a personal amphitheater. I used the rear controls to customize my soundtrack with a little Van Morrison.
There’s no question the 2017 Lincoln Continental is stunning inside and out, but the real question is how does it handle from the driver’s seat? My time driving the luxury sedan was short and sweet like a successful first date, it left me intrigued but wanting more.
Powered by the all-new Lincoln-exclusive 3.0-liter twin-turbo V6 engine with up to 400 horsepower and 400 lb.-ft. of torque, its designed to be powerful, quiet and responsive. My experience behind the wheel was limited to a short, city route, and left little time to experience the Continental’s features like auto hold, which keeps the vehicle at a complete stop without having to hold your foot on the brake. Auto hold is supposed to reduce driver fatigue in heavy stop-and-go traffic.
It was, however, crystal clear, that Lincoln redesigned the Continental with an emphasis on improving the driving experience for owners and their passengers. Every detail from the design of the door handles, brand-exclusive lighting gestures that offer a warm welcome to your vehicle, and the sculpted interior, enhance the customer’s experience. How Continental!
“The Continental name has long been associated with the best Lincoln has to offer, and this car delivers on that promise,” said Kumar Galhotra, president, The Lincoln Motor Company. “With this all-new model, we’ve focused on creating more human, personally tailored experiences for our clients – providing what we call quiet luxury.”
The all-new Lincoln Continental is produced at Flat Rock Assembly Plant in Michigan. You can find the luxury sedan at Lincoln dealerships starting at $44,560.
